The New Testament

Old Testament of the Bible

In Matthew 16:18, Jesus promised... "I will build My church..." Any church that claims to belong to Him should resemble the one you can read about in the New Testament. Anything else is...something else.

In Acts 2:47 it is recorded that there were..."Added to the church daily those who were being saved." The church that Jesus promised to build was made of those who accepted the "Good News" about Him, and were willing to act by faith to enter into a covenant relationship with God through baptism.

Ephesians 1:22 tells us that Jesus is the Founder and..."head over all things to the church." Because Jesus rules over the church the church's headquarters is in heaven where he currently reigns. This also means that only His teachings may direct the actions of the church. No man made rulebook or creed, only the New Testament. (Galatians 1:8)
